Karadayan Nonbu , which is also called as Savitri Viratham is observed by married woman for the wellbeing and Long life of their husbands and unmarried girls do pray for a good husband . This nonbu falls on the last day of the Maasi month .

ஆஞ்சநேயருக்கு வடை மாலை, வெண்ணெய் சார்த்துவது ஏன்?
நமது உடல் தசையால் ஆனது. தசை வளர்ச்சிக்கு உளுந்து முக்கிய காரணமாகிறது. ஒல்லியாக இருப்பவர்கள் இட்லி, தோசை, உளுந்துவடை சாப்பிட்டால் சதைப்பிடிப்பு ஏற்படும். ஆனால், சதையாலான இந்த உடம்பு எதற்காவது பயன்படுமா? எனவே, பயனற்ற இந்த உடலை உனக்கே
அர்ப்பணிக்கிறேன் ஆஞ்சநேயா என்ற தத்துவார்த்தத்தின் அடிப்படையிலேயே உளுந்துவடை மாலை அணிவிக்கிறோம். அனுமானுடைய தாய் அஞ்சனாதேவி தன் மகன் திடமாகவும் ஆரோக்கியமாகவும் இருக்க உளுந்து வடைசெய்து கொடுத்ததாக ஐதீகம். உளுந்து எலும்புகளுக்கு நல்ல போஷாக்கு.

வெண்ணெய் சாத்துதல்:
ராம ராவண யுத்தம் நடக்கிறது அப்போது ராமரையும் லக்குமணரையும் தன் தோளில் சுமந்து கொண்டு சென்றார் அனுமான் அப்போது ராவணன் சராமாரியாய் அம்பு தொடுக்க சக்திமிக்க அம்பால் அவர் தாக்கப் பட்டார், அந்தக் காயத்திற்கு மருந்தாக தன் உடம்பில் வெண்ணெய் பூசிக கொண்டாராம். வெண்ணெய் சீக்கிரமாக உருகும் தன்மை உடையது
அந்த வெண்ணை உருகுவதற்கு முன்பாகவே நாம் நினைத்த காரியம் நடந்து விடும் என்ற நம்பிக்கை, அதனால் வெண்ணெய் சார்த்தும் பழக்கம் உள்ளது.

Offerring Urid dhal vada malai :
Urad dal helps in gaining strength to our muscles..but there is no use in a body with just muscle strength therefore,while offering Urad dal vadamala , we pray saying....we surrender our body to you lord Anjaneya and also there is a belief that Anjane, Anjaneya's mother used to give lot of urad dal vadai in order to keep Lord Anjaneya in good strength and also Urad helps in gaining more bone strength..
Offering butter :
Lord Anjaneya carried Lord Rama and Lakshmanan on his shoulder and when reaching lanka, Ravana started to hit Anjaneya by arrows ...and Anjaneya was wounded badly ,and he applied butter on his whole body ...it helped him in healing the wounds quickly...and butter has a tendency to melt easily , one who offer butter have the belief that before the butter gets melted their wish will come true and also their problem will get solved ....this is the reason people offer butter to Lord Anjaneya.

Thedivantha Chidambaram
This article was published in Dinamalar Aanima malar dated 07.01.12 . Thanks to my friend Lavanya for translating the same in english ..
This story was titled as " THEDIVANTHA CHITHAMBARAM". This was a year before his sidhi, when Maha Periyavaa was not feeling very well, one evening he called his disciples and told that he wanted to go to Chidambaram and pray Natarajar and also wish to see the, kunjithapatham. Kunjithapatham is an offering for Natarajar made out of various herbal roots. This is considered to cure many health related diseases also believed to give moksham. Now his disciples were so worried how to take him to Chidambaram in this health condition. For their surprise, the next day, early morning before sunrise, the priests who do the poojai to Chidambaram temple came to visit Kanchi maha periyavaa with prasadam along with the kunchithapatham and requested to meet Kanchi maha periyavaa and give the offerings. This put every disciples of Kanchi maha periyavaa into a great surprise. They went and informed maha periyavaa about the priests arrival and maha periyavaa signed the priests to come near him. He then accepted the offerings and kept the kunjithapatham on his head. This photo was taken then and this event is called as "Thedivantha chidambaram." The above picture is considered to be one of the rarest picture of maha periyavaa.
